JUICE FAST DAY 3: I FEEL LIKE A CRACK HEAD

How to Get This Cracked-Out Look

Faux Fur Coat-Salvation Army
Vintage Guess Floral Blouse- I've literally had it since I was 10, how does it still fit? I wonder the same thing, it's okay.
Black Dress (worn as skirt)-Thrift shop
Red-tipped Thermal Socks-Walmart
Combat boots (totally unlaced because lacing them would take way too much effort) - TJ Maxx
Feather- found object
Earrings- From India, hand made. Gift from a co-worker who used to live in India.

JUICE FAST: DAY 3 RECAP
It's the end of Day 3 in my juice fast. I look like a crack head and I feel like a crack head detoxing off some crazy crack (brilliant analogy, I know).  Today should be the lasts of my detox, cravings, chills, break-outs, freak-outs, etc.

Tonight I made a really delicious fruit juice: Pineapple/blueberry/strawberry/raspberry and then on the veggie side of things I made a kale/blueberry/apple drank. Very, very good. Don't doubt me on this one, please.

BLUE KALE DRANK

Blue Kale Juice

3 leaves kale (stems and all)
4 cups blueberries
1 granny smith apple (the tart apple will balance out the extremely sweet blueberries)

Strain and enjoy! Oh-Em-Gee day 3's over, oh em gee oh em gee.

Kendrick Lamar-A.D.H.D

"Then she said, get it understood
You know why we crack babies?
Because we born in the 80s
That ADHD crazy"

(Thanks Kendrick, you got me through day 3 of my 10 day juice fast. I heart you)

JUICE FAST DAY 2: MEXICAN JUICE?

 {via}

I got creative with my juices today, I crave variety so I created two Mexican inspired juices.

GUACAMOLE DRANK

1 Avocado
3 large celery stalks
1 cup spinach, packed, (about two handfuls)
1 small clove garlic
1/4 slice of lemon

-Juice the avocado first (because it's very difficult to get through the juicer)
-Juice celery and spinach next (this will push the avocado through)
-Juice garlic last
-Strain
-Squeeze the lemon in last and drink up!

YUM! SO delish! The celery adds that little bit of saltiness and avocado adds some good fats so I won't lose weight.

¿CAN YOU SALSA? JUICE

3 Tomatoes
3 celery stalks
2 Tbs packed cilantro
2 cloves garlic

-Strain and add water if too thick. Drink up!

Again, double YUM! I die.

JUICE FAST DAY 1: WHAT TO EXPECT

{Via}

Day 1: What to Expect

EXPECT TO FEEL TERRIBLE! Haha. No. I'm not kidding. Expect to experience some flu like symptoms as your body is beginning to expel toxins.

What I'm Experiencing

-Today I had a splitting head ache for a couple hours (remember you can't take any pain relievers so I just had to grin and bear it).

-Extreme chills (the room I was in was 71 degrees but I had to wear my winter coat and a blanket. Yea people at work think I'm crazy, like who brings a blanket to work?  Me!)

-Hunger. Yes even though I am "eating" every two hours I have the intense desire to chew something.  I almost attacked my co-workers lunch. I'm hungry!  I expect to be very hungry for the next two days.  My body's in shock right now and it's just trying to figure out why I'm feeding it only liquids. After two to three days it will catch up and begin to accept that it will only be receiving juice as its sole source of nutrients (slow poke).

10 DAY JUICE FAST: DAY 1

{Via}

Today I embark on a journey to health.  Today is DAY 1 of my 10 Day Juice Fast.  What is a juice fast and why am I fasting you ask? Well my darling look no further but to read bellow.

WHAT IS A JUICE FAST?

Juice fasts, sometimes called juice therapy, or juice cleanse, are short-term dietary practices during which the dieter consumes only fruit, vegetable juices in order to cleanse the body of toxins.

WHY JUICE FAST?
1. Juice fasting allows the digestive system to have a rest.
2. Juice fasting allows the body a chance to thoroughly cleanse itself from accumulated toxins,   including those in the bloodstream.
3. Juice fasting speeds up the healing process.
4. Juice fasting increases energy and improves mental clarity and abilities.
5. Juice fasting is an excellent way to lose weight.
6. Juice fasting, I believe, is the closest thing yet to discovering the fountain of youth.
These are the greatest benefits to juice fasting.  I'm obviously not concerned about losing weight since I'm already a twig and I actually cannot afford to lose weight.  I'm more concerned with cleansing my body of toxins and embarking on a deep spiritual journey.  When I come out of this cleanse I am looking forward to being physically healthier and having a stronger walk with Christ.

Follow me on my 10 Day Juice Fast!

(*If you're considering a juice fast DO NOT begin fasting unless you have consulted your doctor and or have been on a vegan/vegetarian diet for at least a month. You will detox too fast and get very sick if otherwise).

SPECIAL GUEST: PAINTER, JASMINE SMITH

Z: What is your name?

J:  Jasmine Smith.

Z: Where is your hometown?

J: I was born in Washington DC, but I was raised in Maryland.

Z: It's kind of funny how Washington DC and Maryland are two different entities even though they share the same space.

J: Yea because DC doesn’t count as a state, it's weird.

Z: What is your profession or occupation, that is what do you perceive yourself to be?

J: Well to pay the bills I am a claims adjustment agent at AAA but my true passion is creating, painting, and exploring materials.

Z: I think a lot of us artists have alternative jobs in order to pay the bills, at least for now.  How did you get started in your field?

J: I went to school for interior design and growing up I was always into building things and being creative.  I graduated college I was so used to having my creativity controlled and forced into a format, to a certain degree. I hadn't painted in a while so I bought some paint and just went for it!
When

Z: When did you begin to pursue painting as a career?

J: What really made me explore my art more seriously was when I was encouraged to have display my art in a local Starbucks.  From there I got good feedback and was able to land my first commission.  Once I realized that people liked and respected my work I began to seriously pursue painting as a career.

Z: That must have been rewarding!

J: It was nice to be encouraged!  If that hadn't have happened painting would have been something I just did for myself which it still is but now I can turn my painting into a tool for something bigger. I really like to create, and I look forward to painting on bigger canvases.

Z: What is your dream?
J: Im not quite sure what my dream is as of right now but I know it will involve using my art and creativity as a tool to bring people together, and to spark something in someone else. Maybe someone who is searching for that outlet to keep them sane or even their dream.

Z:  That's a really excellent answer, truly relatable on every creative level.  How would you describe your artistic style?

J:  My paint style varies. I would say overall my painting style is abstract. I have two different kinds of strokes; one is all about balance and placement of color, and layering, which is more geometric and more controlled. The second is more spontaneous, like free brush strokes that play more with contrast and pops of color (but still planned, although free).

Z:  Where do you draw your style inspiration from?

J: From different colors, patterns, and combinations.  I pay attention to the color of people's wallets, skirts, shirts, and everyday patterns.  I also draw inspiration from however I feel at that time, I allow my emotions to help me pick which path I want to go on with my art.

Z: Hmmm. How has art changed your life?

J: Art has changed my life by giving me direction. I wouldn't even know where to start on any type of path if it wasn't for art. Ive always enjoyed creating things.

Z: Yes! Keep feeding me the truth!  Complete this sentence, "I believe in..."

J:  I believe in letting your imagination run free and not being afraid to create your wildest dream.

Z: Hmmm.  What is your current obsession?

J:  That's a tough one, I feel pretty even right now.  I would say one of my obsessions are sweatshirts and candles.  It's so random, but buying really cute sweatshirts and candles is what I'm really obsessed with...that and music of course because music is always my obsession.

Z: Wow, could you just repeat that last line, "music is always my obsession".  I think I'm gonna get that tattooed somewhere.  Does music affect your art?

J:  Definitely!  Music is how I cope and deal with life so it affects me, which affects my art. A lot of times music will inspire me to work.  It impacts me by motivating me to continue to create.

Z: Is there anything special you’d like the readers and or world to know?

J:  I would tell them to, "Not put your imagination in a box and to create with your whole heart!"

Z:  What are you looking to do in the near future, let's say within the next 6 months?

J: Within the next 6 months I want to move forward independently with my art.  I want to push my art further without losing momentum. I want to do more custom art, accent walls for interiors, and continue to relate different pallets to different canvases.

Z: I look forward to experiencing more of your art! Jasmine thank you so much for sharing your work on Zapora-Strange.
